"Quabothoo" & "Part Cantara" Coonamble

Sold

"Quabothoo" & "Part Cantara"

Dual purpose production with scale

  • 8 Beds

  • 4 Baths

"Quabothoo" (2,360.74 HA) and "Part Cantara" (1,098.70 HA) are neighbouring properties located 65 radial kilometres to the north-west of Coonamble and total 3,459.44 HA, of which approximately 2,400 HA (70%) is arable. They offer a level topography with a variety of self-mulching, black soils and lighter red loam. Originally timbered in Myall, Wilga, Belah, Rosewood and box, the properties have been developed with the thought of balancing production and sustainability, with particular emphasis on maintaining a dual-purpose property that can easily switch between cropping and livestock production models.

The grazing country offers both heavy and light soils that provides an abundance of natural grasses and herbages in season. Summer grasses include buffel, Mitchell, windmill, as well as tarvine and pigweed. In winter an abundance of barley grass, clover and rape with Crowsfoot on the lighter ridges complements the property. Approximately 1,600 HA have been sown in the past for grain and fodder production on "Quabothoo", however given the favourable seasons in recent years management chose to lend the land back to native pastures, emphasizing the productive flexibility of this country. Around 800 HA of "Part Cantara" is arable and there is 650 HA of Lancer Wheat sown to wheat for the 2023 winter season.

The improvements on "Quabothoo" include an 8 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 2 kitchen homestead, providing comfortable accommodation for a family or manager. There are 6 cone bottom silos, new sheep yards and steel cattle yards, and there is a modest 4 bay shed with a concrete floor and a skillion. 63 mm poly reticulates water from the "Quabothoo" bore scheme to an array of poly tanks and concrete troughs, backed up with ground tanks and a bore drain. "Part Cantara" enjoys similar water infrastructure with its own, private solar bore sending water to tanks and troughs via two-inch poly, also backed up with ground tanks. Good to very good fencing subdivides these properties into 6 main paddocks on each place.

These properties present an excellent opportunity to secure some of the safer and more productive country that the northwestern slopes and plains has to offer. This is a very tightly held area with limited offerings of this quality.

"Quabothoo" and "Part Cantara" will be offered in two separate auctions on Monday the 31st of July 2023, unless sold prior.
